DigiOS takes reads from fixed readers and handheld readers that speak the GS1 Low Level Reader Protocol, or that publish reads over MQTT or HTTP in a format we agree with you. The edge gateway in your building collects them and passes each read, with its antenna and time, to DigiOS.

- About RFID (EPC Gen2)
- EPC Gen2, also called RAIN RFID, is the standard for passive UHF tags that readers can scan without line of sight.
- Your account
- The devices, printers and controllers stay yours, on your network. DigiOS reaches them through an edge unit in your building, or from the browser.
- If a document is rejected
- A scan, a label or a command that fails shows on the device and in the exceptions list with its reason, and nothing is sent again on a guess.
Questions about RFID (EPC Gen2)
Does DigiOS replace barcode scanning with RFID?
No. A person can still scan. RFID adds reads at the door and in zones where scanning every carton is slow.
Which readers work?
Readers that speak LLRP, and readers that publish over MQTT or HTTP. Tell us the model and we confirm the route.
Who writes the tags?
Your tag printer or encoder does. DigiOS sends it the EPC to write and checks the read afterwards.
