DigiWarehouse · Picking and shipping

Picking, packing and loading that tell each person what's next.

Release an order and the floor works it by scan: pick, pack, label, load, close. Closing the load hands the stock to the carrier and completes the order.

Sample data

Handheld taskLocation, item and quantity, a scan to confirm, and the next job. With no signal the scans keep going on the device and are checked when it reconnects. On a phone this shows each handheld at its own size, one under the other.

What it usually looks like

  • Printed pick lists that are out of date by the time they reach the floor.

  • A short pick found at the truck.

  • A label that didn't print, and nobody knows which one.

Five things it does

Release the work.

Order lines queue, are released to the floor, and trigger a replenishment when a pick face runs low.

Sample data

Live operations boardDoors, tasks, orders and exceptions for one site, by client or shift. A scan on the floor shows up here as it happens. On a phone this shows the totals, the doors and the scan feed.

Pick by scan.

Item, location and quantity on the handheld. Scan to confirm. Flag a short without leaving the screen. Voice picking and pick-to-light or put-to-light take the same job from the same queue.

Pack and label.

Cartons, carrier labels and tracking are saved to the order. A print job shows whether it printed, failed or is unknown, and nothing is resent on a guess. A scale at the pack station confirms weight and a dimensioner confirms size. Labels print to ZPL printers, and a print-and-apply labeler labels the carton on the line.

Load and close.

Open a load, scan containers on, close it. The stock leaves, the order is complete, and the client is told what shipped.

Questions

What happens to a short pick?

The operator flags it on the handheld. It goes to the exceptions queue, and the order line is closed short only after the right person approves.

Can I reprint a label?

Yes, from the print queue. It shows which labels printed, which failed and which are unknown.

Tell us how an order leaves today.

We'll walk one of your orders from release to the truck.
