Run robots from any maker on one floor, in one queue with your people.

Mobile robots, autonomous forklifts, storage systems, robot arms and cobots take work from the same orders your people do. You set the zones and rules once. DigiOS sends each job to whoever should do it.

Sample data

Mixed fleet boardPeople and robots work from one task queue. A zone closes for a person and the robots go around it; when a robot stops, its task goes to a person. On a phone this shows the fleet, the shared task queue and the robot that stopped.

What it usually looks like

  • Each robot maker has its own app, its own map and its own idea of what's next.

  • A second or third maker turns into a second or third project.

  • Robots and people end up in the same aisle with nobody in charge of the aisle.

Six things it does

Any maker, one floor.

Mobile robots from different makers run side by side under one set of zones and rules. Adding the next maker is onboarding, not a project.

One queue for robots and people.

A pick, a move or a putaway goes to the right robot or person, and everyone sees where it stands. Robots that meet a person at the pick, robots that bring the shelf and forklifts that move pallets all take jobs from the same queue.

Zones and rules.

Closed areas, one-way routes, areas that need permission, and who may enter. Change a zone and every maker's robots follow it. Close an aisle and no robot is sent there.

Charging and rest.

Robots charge when demand allows and rest when it doesn't. You see each robot's battery and energy use by machine and by shift.

When something stops.

A robot that stops or fails is routed around, its job moves to another, and the supervisor sees the reason. Changing a maker doesn't stop the operation.

Arms and cobots.

Robot arms for piece picking and depalletizing, and cobots beside people, take jobs from the same queue.

What it runs

  • AMRs: robots that meet a person at the pick, and robots that bring the shelf.
  • AGVs on fixed paths.
  • Autonomous forklifts and tuggers.
  • Automated storage and retrieval: cube and shuttle systems.
  • Robot arms and cobots.

Built to work with open standards

DigiOS speaks VDA 5050, the open interface that lets one control system drive mobile robots from different makers. It also speaks the MassRobotics AMR interoperability standard, which lets AMRs from different makers share their position, health and capability so they can work in the same building. Robots that speak either work on your floor. Robots that speak neither connect through a connection we set up with you.

Safety stays where it is

Your robots keep their own safety systems and your site keeps its procedures. DigiOS gives robots their work and their rules. It doesn't replace what keeps people safe on your floor.

Questions

Which robot makers?

Any maker whose robots speak one of those two standards, and others through a connection set up with you. Tell us the makers and models. We reply with what each takes. We don't name makers on this page because it isn't a list of ours: it's a list of yours.

Do we have to buy from one maker?

No. That is the point of one floor.

Can we start small?

Yes. Start with one zone and a few robots beside your people, then add.

Does it run our storage system?

Yes. A storage system takes store and retrieve jobs from the same queue, and the stock it holds shows beside everything else.

What happens when a robot stops?

Its job moves to another robot or a person, and the supervisor sees the reason.

Tell us the robots on your floor, or the ones you're considering.

We'll walk through your robot list and the mixed fleet board screen for it.
