Automation and equipment

Robots, lines and people on one stream of work.

DigiOS sends each job to the right person, robot or machine, and everyone sees where it stands. Mobile robots from different makers, conveyors and sorters, scales and scanners, and the people beside them work from the same orders, from the back office to the conveyor belt.

Sample data

Mixed fleet boardPeople and robots work from one task queue. A zone closes for a person and the robots go around it; when a robot stops, its task goes to a person. On a phone this shows the fleet, the shared task queue and the robot that stopped.
Industry 5.0, in floor terms

People at the centre. A floor that keeps running. Machines that use less.

Sample data

Handheld taskLocation, item and quantity, a scan to confirm, and the next job. With no signal the scans keep going on the device and are checked when it reconnects. On a phone this shows each handheld at its own size, one under the other.

People at the centre.

Robots take the walking and the lifting. Each person gets the next job on the device that suits them, in their own language, and a supervisor sees who needs help.

A floor that keeps running.

A robot that stops or a section that jams is routed around. A network drop doesn't stop the work. Changing a robot maker doesn't stop the operation.

Machines that use less.

Robots charge when demand allows and rest when it doesn't. You see energy use per machine and per shift, and trips are routed so fewer of them cover the same work.

What it usually looks like

  • A robot maker's app, a conveyor's panel and a warehouse system, each with its own idea of what happens next.

  • A second or third robot maker turns into a second or third project.

  • A jam found when the orders are already late.

Robots

AMRs, AGVs, autonomous forklifts, storage systems, robot arms and cobots, from any maker, on one floor and in one queue with your people.

Sample data

Conveyor and line viewThe line drawn from the pack stations to the lanes, with the state of each segment and the order each carton belongs to. The back office and the conveyor read the same scan.On a phone this shows the scanner, the scale and lane 2, with the cartons and their orders.

Lines and machines

PLCs, conveyors, sorters, scales, dimensioners, labelers, RFID portals and storage, beside the orders they serve. In a plant, the machines on the line too.

People

Handheld, wearable, voice or light, in each person's own language.

How it works

  1. Connect everything on the floor.

Robots, conveyors, PLCs, scales, scanners, printers, sensors and storage systems join the same system as your orders and your people.

  2. Put the work in one queue.

A pick, a move or a putaway goes to the right person, robot or machine.

  3. Set the rules once.

Zones, one-way routes, closed areas, charging, and who may go where, for every maker's robots.

  4. Watch it all and step in.

One board shows the order, the robot fetching it, the conveyor carrying it and the person packing it. An exception goes to the person who can act.

One view from the ERP down to the PLC

An order, its stock, the robot fetching it, the conveyor carrying it and the person packing it are one view. The office plans the work, the floor does it, and nobody asks a second system what the first one decided.

What connects

Each kind of equipment, what DigiOS does with it and what you see.
EquipmentWhat DigiOS does with itWhat you see
AMRs and AGVsSends them jobs and zone rulesWhere each is, what it is carrying, its battery
Autonomous forklifts and tuggersSends them pallet movesThe move on the same board as every other job
AS/RS, goods-to-person, shuttle and cube storageSends them store and retrieve jobsThe stock they hold, beside everything else
Robot arms and cobotsSends them pick and depalletize jobsEach job finished, or the reason it wasn't
PLCs, conveyors, sortersSends the line its work and routes cartons to a lane, station or dockEach section moving, stopped or backed up, with the work it holds
Scales and dimensionersConfirm weight and size at receiving and pack-outThe measure against the order, and a flag when it is off
Print-and-apply labelers, label printersLabel the carton and the palletPrinted, failed or unknown, and the ones to reprint
RFID portals and scannersRead pallets and cartons at doors and zonesStock arriving and leaving
Temperature sensors and IoTWatch each zoneAn alarm, and the stock in that zone on hold

Questions

Do we have to replace our equipment?

No. We start with what you run and tell you what it takes to connect each piece.

Which robots work with it?

Mobile robots from different makers run side by side. Tell us the makers and models you run or are considering, and we reply with what onboarding each one takes.

Who connects to our PLCs?

We do, with your controls engineer, one line at a time. You decide which equipment and which jobs DigiOS handles.

Does DigiOS replace what keeps people safe?

No. Your robots and machines keep their own safety systems, and your site keeps its procedures. DigiOS gives them work and rules.

What about equipment that isn't on the table?

Tell us the make and the model. We reply with what it would take.

Send us the robots and machines on one floor.

We'll walk through your floor, your equipment list and the screens for them, with your people in the same queue.
