Put people at the centre of the floor, and let robots take the walking and the lifting.

Each person gets the next job on the device that suits them: handheld, wearable scanner, voice or light. Instructions appear in their own language. Supervisors see who needs help before anyone asks.

Sample data

Handheld taskLocation, item and quantity, a scan to confirm, and the next job. With no signal the scans keep going on the device and are checked when it reconnects. On a phone this shows each handheld at its own size, one under the other.

What it usually looks like

  • A new temp reading instructions in a language that isn't theirs.

  • Operators walking a mile a shift to fetch what a robot could bring.

  • A supervisor who finds out someone is stuck when the order is late.

Five things it does

The next job, on the device that suits the person.

Handheld, wearable scanner, voice headset or pick-to-light: the same job from the same queue. A scan, a word or a light finishes it.

Their own language.

Instructions and prompts appear in each person's own language.

Robots take the walking and the lifting.

Robots bring the shelf, carry the cart and move the pallet. People do the work that needs hands and eyes: picking, checking, packing. A robot meets a person at the pick instead of the other way round.

Sample data

Mixed fleet boardPeople and robots work from one task queue. A zone closes for a person and the robots go around it; when a robot stops, its task goes to a person. On a phone this shows the fleet, the shared task queue and the robot that stopped.

Supervisors see who needs help.

The board shows who is waiting, who is stuck and who is far from their next job, for people and robots in one list, so a supervisor goes to them.

Zones people can count on.

Close an aisle and no robot is sent there while people are working in it.

When the network drops, the work goes on

Handhelds, wearables and the robots on your floor keep working through a network drop, and everything is checked when the link returns.

Questions

Which devices work?

Android handhelds, wearable scanners, tablets, voice picking, and pick-to-light and put-to-light. All take the same job from the same queue.

Does a new person need training on each device?

The screen, the voice or the light tells them what to do next, whatever the device.

Will robots replace our people?

DigiOS is built around people doing the work that needs them. Robots take the walking and the lifting, and your people decide what happens when something is wrong.

Tell us what your people use today.

We'll walk one of your jobs through each device, then show you what the supervisor sees.
